COVID – 19… THE APOCALYPSE!!
I would like to start my work with the following questions
to the world from different states and countries;
Kashmir, India is asking: Dear World, how is the
lock-down?
Iraq is asking: Dear World, how is it to be separated
from your beloveds?
Palestine is asking: Dear World, how are the travel
bans?
Syria is asking: Dear World, how is it not going to
school?
Africa is asking: Dear World, did you stock up on
enough food?
WHO OWNS OUR PLANET – EARTH?
It’s not just for Humans,
it’s also for each and every single living organisms that exist on our planet,
no matter what size it is. But what did we do?
We humans, attacked and
hunted down all such animals and thereby forced them to flee from their land
and we dominated. We cut down trees and built skyscrapers there, we made our
river sources and oceans, a Trash-Bin, full of wastes, and we polluted our air
thereby made lives of birds and other animals difficult. We are doing this,
because we believe in the “survival of
the fittest” theory, right.?
Well, look what happened
to our planet now.
A virus, a single
microscopic, infinitesimal virus, was sent or came from nowhere and pierced our
eyes. It scrunched our world, has started eroding from one side of our planet.
Out of 195 countries, more than 90% are affected by it and still spreading. No
medicines were found and hence no cure for it yet. Government officials, all
over the world, are baffled, and stock exchange plummeted which already led to
a financial crisis, however no one’s worried about money rather than their
lives. Scientists & higher authorities insist everyone to be “Home Quarantined”, even global economy
is under quarantine then why can’t us? Also insisted “Social-Distancing” which could also prevent the spreading to a
limited extend. Social Distancing is a way of creating a barrier of personal
distance between two or more people, thereby virus transmission can be halted.
Almost hundred years ago, when Spanish
Flu happened, people used to do this social distancing and mitigated the
number of deaths. No matter, rich or poor, white or black, COVID-19 doesn’t
have any discrimination or partiality in affecting people. It forced to
lock-down our planet. As of now, no safe and effective vaccinations or medicines
are found to cure it and we are not sure how long will it take to find one,
therefore the best way is to prevent it as much as we can by following social
distancing. Like Spanish Flu, can we call this as Chinese Flu? Well, I don’t
know. I remember, my Chinese mate, once told me that, they believe that these
kind of sicknesses are due to misfortune or bad luck, or can also be caused by
the curse from a hatred person. Superstitious huh!!
Roads are empty, no cars,
no vehicles thereby put down the levels of carbon monoxide and nitrogen
drastically in the atmosphere. Creepers and Climbers around us are smiling at
us now. No ships, no boats and trolling, that resulted in less impurities in
oceans and thereby making the sea water clear and more freedom for water
organisms. Almost all continents are prone to this virus now.
When there are no people
around, animals (of course not all dangerous ones) started roaming around to
feel their freedom by breaking their chains. In Detroit,
Zoo let penguins to explore the grounds and they are feeling the freshness of
their freedom, thanking everyone for their home quarantine move.
Now, when we look out
from our balconies, we can see the birds chirping and flying harmoniously. It
made my mind to think that did Corona spread happen to provide freedom to all
animals?
Apart from other
countries, India plays a vital role in preventing this virus to a certain
extend. Especially, the small south western state – Kerala, has done a pivotal
part in crisis management in this spread. The state has become a model for many
other states and even countries for its inevitable role in the prevention of
deadly Nipah virus in 2018.
Kerala government has
initially taken precautionary steps by locking down major districts which was
most affected by COVID-19, prior to the nation lock-down. The first cases of
corona virus in the nation were reported in Kerala from three students who came
from Wuhan, China. They were later recovered and there were no more further
positive reports in the state. Government advised to report to the government
organization when people arrive at the airport, prior leaving to their homes. Later
a family who came from Italy, without any symptoms of this illness, who were
unaware of the government’s order missed to report and drove home and later
found positive. Soon the government acted, found them and isolated them. And
now the whole nation is in home quarantine. Cops are patrolling everywhere to
find those who disobey the curfew order from the government and now they
started beating them and charging cases against those who took this as silly
and unnecessarily roaming around.
I wish and strongly believe that this will come to an end soon and
our government authorities can mitigate and prevent from the disaster. And please
don’t forget to thank our doctors and nurses and other government authorities
like cops and others who work round the clock in fight against the pandemic.
……STAY SAFE……STAY @ HOME……
& BREAK THE CHAIN
